Denton area closings

Besides Denton ISD being closed today Thursday, Feb. 11 the following services will also be affected.
Denton County Offices will close at
• 3 pm today, Thursday February 11, 2010
• They will open again at noon on Friday, February 12, 2010.
All Tax Office locations will be closing at noon today, February 11, 2010, due to weather and needed time for close-out procedures.
City of Denton:
Due to inclement weather, My Little Valentine Dance and Girls’ Softball Registration Day have been cancelled.
In addition, City of Denton offices, including recreation centers, will close at 2pm on Thursday, February 11 and reopen at noon on Friday, February 12. For updates, please visit www.cityofdenton.com

Children, ages 2-12, and their family will enjoy a magical
night of dancing, refreshments, photos, and more!
Each guest must purchase a ticket. Advance tickets may be purchased at Denton Civic Center, 321 E. McKinney Street.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Advance tickets are $5/person and $7/person at the door.
Admission includes dancing and refreshments. Extras include $3/commemorative photos, $2/rose, and $1/glow necklaces.

January 2010 sales show slight increase!

As you can see from the chart, January sales took a sharp turn upward over last year. Each year is compared to the previous year to show the percentage change. This is a good indicator that the economy might be on the upswing finally. We will have to watch this and hopefully it will continue over the next several months.
